Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department battled a one-acre brush fire in Moreno Valley Saturday.

The fire was reported around 2:40 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Morrison Street where firefighters found vegetation burning in an open field and drainage canal.

The forward rate of spread was stopped at one acre, and firefighters predicted remaining on-scene for approximately two additional hours.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
