The run of eight decreases in nine days to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County totaling 4.2 cents ended Monday with an increase of four-tenths of a cent to $4.575.
The run began with back-to-back decreases of two-tenths of a cent Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. It was interrupted last Monday by an increase of two-tenths of a cent, then resumed Tuesday when the average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 3.6 cents less than one week ago and 3.2 cents lower than one month ago but 12.4 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $1.798 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The run of 17 decreases in 18 days to the national average price totaling 12.4 cents ended when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.036.
The run began with four consecutive decreases. The national average price was unchanged Oct. 6, then resumed dropping the next day.
The national average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago, 15.3 cents lower than one month ago and 14 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.98 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
