Sunline Transit Agency will provide free fares on all fixed-route buses Tuesday across the Coachella Valley to ensure riders may reach polling places on Election Day.
The agency said the one-day initiative will be its way of supporting community engagement and acknowledges the importance of residents voting rights.
“Our goal is to make voting as accessible as possible for everyone in our community,” CEO and General Manager of Sunline Mona Babauta said in a statement. “We’re proud to do our part by offering free transportation, making it easier for residents to participate in this important civic duty.”
The free fares will be valid on Sunline’s 1-9 fixed-route network, excluding 10 Commuter Link, SunRide and SunDial.
