With numerous airports expected to reduce flights or delays starting Friday as a result of the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Palm Springs International Airport announced Thursday that it has not experienced any impacts.
The Federal Aviation Administration has asked 40 major airports to reduce flights on Friday if the government shutdown continues.
However, PSP officials said that the airport “is not on that list and no flight reductions have been issued here.” They advise travelers to check airline’s website before heading to the airport and to check the airport’s flight status page for real-time updates.
The airport may face as officials refer to as “ripple effects” due to the connections with airports that may be on the list.
“We’re in close contact with our federal and airline partners and will keep travelers informed of any changes,” airport officials said in a statement.
