Four people were rushed to a hospital Sunday after a car crashed into a home in Hemet.

The crash was reported about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the 44000 block of Lately Circle, in Hemet, the Riverside County Fire Department announced.

The driver and sole occupant became trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters before being rushed to a hospital, according to the department.

Three occupants of the home were also hospitalized. Their injuries were considered minor to moderate.

The home sustained major damage and a total of seven people were displaced. The American Red Cross was requested to assist them.

Identifying information on the people involved was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash was unknown.

Firefighters predicted remaining on scene for an additional hour.
