Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department battled a residential fire in La Quinta Saturday.
The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. Saturday in the 81000 block of Kingston Heath where firefighters found a single-story home with smoke and fire showing from the roof.
The incident commander requested additional engines and utilities, and the fire was contained around 3:50 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was unknown.
According to the fire department, the residents declined assistance from the American Red Cross.
Fire crews predicted remaining on scene for an additional three hours for salvage and overhaul.
