The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped 1.7 cents Wednesday to $4.592, its 14th decrease in the last 16 days.

The average price is 8.7 cents less than one week ago and 29.5 cents less than one month ago, but 19.1 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.902 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 16th time in 17 days, falling 2.2 cents to $4.50. It is 10.4 cents less than one week ago and 35.4 cents less than one month ago, but 17.5 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.959 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 19th time in 20 days, falling a half-cent to $2.94. It has dropped 16 cents over the past 20 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The national average price is 5.9 cents less than one week ago, 13.1 cents less than one month ago and 7.1 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.076 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
