The run of 22 decreases in 23 days that dropped the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its lowest amount since Aug. 14 ended Monday with an increase of two-tenths of a cent to $4.468.

The average price dropped 26.3 cents during the run, including one-tenth of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It decreased nine consecutive days, was unchanged Dec. 8 and resumed dropping the following day.

The average price is 6.2 cents less than one week ago and 31.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 7.7 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $2.026 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 28th time in 29 days, falling three-tenths of a cent to $4.354, its lowest amount since Jan. 3. It dropped five consecutive days, rose a half-cent Nov. 29 and resumed decreasing the following day.

The run began one day after the end of a 12-day streak of decreases totaling 13.9 cents.

The average price has dropped 36.1 cents during the run, including a half-cent Sunday. It is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 36.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 2.4 cents more than one year ago.

The national average price dropped for the 10th time in 11 days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $2.855. It has dropped 8.5 cents over the past 11 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The national average price fell four consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Tuesday and resumed falling Wednesday. It is 5.1 cents less than one week ago, 22.4 cents lower than one month ago and 18.7 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $2.161 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
