A 31-year-old woman was found dead Tuesday in a homeless encampment beneath the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the University Park area of Los Angeles.
The discovery was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday, under the Hoover Street bridge of the eastbound freeway lanes.
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner were called to the scene at 9:10 a.m. and later identified the woman as Alexis Fitzmaurice.
No further information was immediately available.
