The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday to its lowest amount since Dec. 21, 2024, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.385.

The average price has fallen five of the past six days, decreasing 4.9 cents, including 1.8 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped a half-cent on both Saturday and Sunday, rose a half-cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 4.7 cents less than one month ago, 24.7 cents lower than one month ago and 6.4 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.109 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since June 30, 2021, decreasing 1.5 cents to $4.267. It is 4.5 cents less than one week ago, 27.7 cents lower than one month ago and 13 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped $2.192 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price was unchanged, remaining at $2.819 after back-to-back increases totaling seven-tenths of a cent. It is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, 13.3 cents lower than one month ago and 25 cents below what it was one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $2.197 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
