Lane closures and parking restrictions along state Route 2 in West Los Angeles and Echo Park were expected next week.
Beginning Tuesday and ending Sunday, the closures and restrictions are part of the Route 2 Intermodal Project, which will upgrade crossings, transit stops and make other improvements on state Route 2, according to Caltrans.
On the West L.A. portion of the route, one lane will be closed between Wellesley and Brockton avenues between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and there will be no parking along that stretch. Additionally, the Big Blue Bus will not stop on westbound Santa Monica Boulevard near Wellesley and eastbound Santa Monica at Bundy Drive.
On the Echo Park portion, up to two lanes will be closed on southbound and northbound Alvarado Street between Sunset Boulevard and Montana Street between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., and one lane will be closed between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
There will be no parking on either side of Alvarado.
State Route 2 is Santa Monica Boulevard in West L.A., and Alvarado Street in Echo Park.
