A hiker was rescued Monday from a trail near Palm Desert after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
The rescue was reported about 1:25 p.m. Monday near the Art Smith trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said an adult fell about 1.5 miles from the trailhead and firefighters walked to the hiker’s location to render aid.
The injured hiker was flown by a helicopter from the trail to a ground ambulance, where the person was taken to a local hospital.
