Two people were injured Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash at a Menifee intersection.

The crash was reported just after 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCall Boulevard and Menifee Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said several engine crews were sent to the location and found three vehicles damaged in the middle of the intersection.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. It was raining lightly throughout the area at the time.

One motorist suffered moderate injuries, while another suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment. The third driver was evidently unharmed.

The parties were not identified.

The intersection was partially shut down for several hours while the Menifee Police Department conducted a preliminary investigation.
