A hiker was rescued from a remote trail area north of Idyllwild Sunday.

The hiker was reportedly suffering from a minor injury just before 3 p.m. Sunday in the hiking area of Suicide Rock Trail, north of Idyllwild, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Due to the remote location, a Cal Fire rescue helicopter was requested to assist and perform a hoist rescue to take the hiker to a nearby ground ambulance, then to a hospital, with minor injuries. A further description of the person was not provided.
