A travel trailer hitched to an SUV overturned Wednesday on Interstate 215 in Murrieta, blocking several lanes and snarling traffic.
The accident was reported at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday on the northbound side of the freeway, just north of Clinton Keith Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling at an unconfirmed speed when the nearly 30-foot-long trailer it was towing flipped in the slow lane.
No one was injured, and no other vehicles were involved.
The trailer remained attached to the Chevy and came to rest in the No. 2 lane, obstructing both it and the slow lane, the CHP said.
Officials said a small propane tank in the back of the trailer ruptured, but Murrieta Fire & Rescue crews secured the tank minutes later without further incident.
CHP officers shut down the No. 2 and 3 lanes, prompting a Sigalert due to the ensuing traffic jam. The wreckage was expected to be cleared by 1 p.m.
CHP officers were investigating what happened.
