A fire at a 13-story residential building under construction near the Beverly Center was knocked down within 25 minutes Monday evening by approximately 66 firefighters.

Firefighters responded at around 6:50 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of San Vicente Boulevard, near Third Street, to reports of visible flames and smoke on the second floor of the building toward the rear, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Building and safety officials were notified to assess the scene, and two additional task forces were requested to assist with the operation.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
