High winds forced the indefinite postponement of the Stagecoach country music festival Saturday, prompting an evacuation of the festival grounds.
Festival promoter Goldenvoice alerted attendees at 7:48 p.m. to leave the grounds and move vehicles to protected areas for safety, according to reports.
Organizers later told patrons at 8:37 p.m. that the festival would resume once the site was prepared for safety.
Lainey Wilson, Journey and Pitbull were among the artists scheduled to perform Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory in effect until 11 a.m. Sunday, warning of west winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph and isolated gusts to 65 mph in the Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, Apple and Lucerne valleys and the San Diego County deserts.
Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn and Hootie and the Blowfish were scheduled to perform Sunday.
