A wind-driven brush fire near Lancaster has scorched nearly 335 acres with 0% containment, but evacuation orders have been canceled, Cal Fire reported Friday.
The brush fire was reported at 1:06 p.m. Thursday near 230th Street West and West Avenue C8, according to Cal Fire.
As the fire grew in size, driven by winds out of the west at roughly 10 mph, evacuation warnings were issued across a wide area, covering a swath stretching from 280th Street West to 170th Street West, south of West Avenue A. Fire crews were able to halt the spread of the blaze by mid-afternoon Thursday and no injuries were reported.
Cal Fire reported all evacuation orders were rescinded by 6:46 p.m. Thursday.
Several structures were threatened by the flames, but there were no reports of any actual structural damage. Crews remained on the scene working to fully douse the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
