A fire broke out Wednesday at a Palm Springs residence, but no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of West San Rafael Drive, according to the Palm Springs Fire Department.

Arriving firefighters encountered smoke showing from the single-story building.

A man was found inside the building and was escorted to safety, while a woman and her dog were displaced during the operation.

Officials said the living area of the building did not sustain smoke, fire or water damage.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
