A multi-vehicle crash on state Route 86 in Coachella prompted closure of northbound lanes, with no injuries reported.
The crash was reported shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday south of the Dillon Road on-ramp, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said arriving crews encountered a semi truck on its side and a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The occupants of the two semi trucks and a passenger vehicle involved in the crash were able to self-extricate, officials said.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Crews were expected to remain at the scene for several hours to perform overhaul.
