The run of 33 decreases in 34 days that dropped the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its lowest amount since March 14 ended Monday when it was unchanged, remaining at $5.587
The average price dropped 62.7 cents during the run, including eight-tenths of a cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent May 25 and resumed decreasing May 26.
The average price is 16.9 cents less than one week ago and 60.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 94.3 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 39th time in 40 days, falling two-tenths of a cent to $5.455, its lowest amount since March 13. It has dropped 73.7 cents over the past 40 days, including eight-tenths of a cent Sunday.
The Orange County average price dropped three consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent May 17 and resumed dropping May 18. It is 17 cents less than one week ago and 68.7 cents lower than one month ago but 88.2 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 32nd consecutive day, falling nine-tenths of a cent to $3.929, its lowest amount since March 21. It has fallen 63.5 cents over the past 32 days, including 1.3 cents Sunday.
The national average price is 13.6 cents less than one week ago and 62.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 71.1 cents more than one year ago.
