Two big rigs were involved in a crash with another vehicle on the Golden State (5) Freeway north of Castaic Monday shutting down all southbound lanes as the morning commute into Los Angeles got underway.

The crash was reported at 4:43 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway just south of Smokey Bear Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Only minor injuries were reported, although one person was transported to a hospital, an officer said.

A SigAlert was issued as southbound traffic was only getting through the crash via the center median, according to the CHP.
