A big rig fire in Castaic Monday that spread to nearby brush, burning approximately 25 acres and prompting evacuation warnings, was contained with no reported injuries or damage to structures.

The fire was reported at approximately 4:10 p.m. Monday near the Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park along the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway. It initially burned about 15 acres at a moderate rate of speed, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

By about 5:25 p.m., the fire had grown to approximately 19 acres, according to Cal Fire.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman told City News Service that the fire was reported contained around 6:05 p.m. at 25 acres.

The cause of the brush fire was under investigation.
