Drivers traveling on Pacific Coast Highway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard next week can expect overnight and daytime lane closures as Caltrans and utility crews continue Palisades Fire recovery work.
According to Caltrans, the closures will affect portions of Pacific Coast Highway between Temescal Canyon Road in Pacific Palisades and Carbon Beach Terrace in Malibu, along with Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
Northbound Pacific Coast Highway at the Big Rock Drive intersection will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday for Southern California Edison work.
Northbound PCH at the state Route 27 intersection also will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday for Verizon work, Caltrans said.
Additional daytime lane closures may occur weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for Las Flores Creek cleanup, drainage, slope repairs and retaining wall construction. Southbound Pacific Coast Highway between Pena Road and Tuna Canyon Road also may be reduced to one lane during those hours as needed for retaining wall work.
Separately, Pacific Coast Highway just north of Big Rock Drive remains under nightly traffic restrictions, with one lane open in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for less than one-half mile, Caltrans said.
Pacific Coast Highway also remains under reduced speed limits in the fire recovery zone. The speed limit is 35 mph between Temescal Canyon Road and Sunset Boulevard and 25 mph between Sunset Boulevard and Carbon Beach Terrace.
On Topanga Canyon Boulevard (state Route 27), one-way traffic control will continue from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday between Entrada Drive and Pacific Coast Highway for guardrail work. A 15 mph speed limit also remains in effect through the Caltrans work zone between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Drive.
Caltrans advised motorists to expect delays, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
