Firefighters were battling a vegetation fire Monday in the Antelope Acres area near Lancaster that had burned an estimated 300 acres, prompting evacuation warnings.
Firefighters responded around 4:10 p.m. Monday near West 90th Street West and West Avenue H to reports of a rapidly growing brush fire that initially burned 30 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No evacuation orders or warnings had been issued as of 4:30 p.m., although crews reported possible threats to nearby structures.
About 20 minutes later, the brush fire had grown to 300 acres, prompting evacuation warnings for the surrounding area, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman told City News Service.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
