A Calimesa man and his two young sons reported missing earlier Wednesday under uncertain circumstances were found safe.
Cesar Contreras, 32, and his boys, 10-year-old Christopher Contreras German and 4-year-old Elias Contreras, were located at an unspecified location Wednesday afternoon.
No one was reported injured, and there was no indication where they may have been.
Loved ones became concerned and filed a missing persons report with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department after Contreras drove away with the youths at 7 a.m. in his 2014 Ford Explorer, apparently without telling anyone his intentions or destination.
The CHP issued an “Endangered Missing Advisory” on behalf of sheriff’s investigators, requesting that law enforcement agencies in the region be on alert. An Endangered Missing notification generally means there are concerns a disappearance has criminal implications.
No other details were provided.
