A pilot safely landed a small aircraft Saturday in the unincorporated Riverside County community of Mecca, near the Salton Sea.
The emergency landing was reported at 6:07 p.m. Saturday at Avenue 68 and Lincoln Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The first arriving fire unit saw the plane’s solo occupant out of the aircraft with no injuries, fire officials said. It was unclear if there were any other people in the vicinity.
The reason for the emergency landing was not released.
