Firefighters were battling a brush fire in Mead Valley Saturday that threatened buildings and prompted evacuations.
The fire was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 20200 block of Masoncrest Drive, burning at a moderate rate of spread, according to the nonprofit wildfire-information service Watch Duty.
The fire burned an estimated three to five acres on first report.
Law enforcement personnel were requested to assist with evacuations, and additional air tankers were requested for an air attack on the blaze.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
