A man who alleges he was beaten by security guards during the 2024 second anniversary event for Bradley Martyn’s Zoo Culture gym has reached a settlement in his lawsuit against the influencer.

In his Van Nuys Superior Court complaint, plaintiff Charles Mancuso also contended that open drug use and unsanctioned wrestling and boxing matches were encouraged at the Jan. 12, 2024 event. Attorneys in the case told Judge Lee S. Arian during an Oct. 9 hearing that the case was resolved. No terms were divulged and the judge vacated this month’s start of trial.

In their previous court papers, attorneys for Martyn and Zoo Culture denied Mancuso’s allegations and cited multiple defenses, including a violation of the statute of limitations and the lawyers’ claim that Mancuso suffered no injuries.

In his lawsuit, Mancuso describes Martyn as an online influencer who advertises himself, Zoo Culture and the Zoo Culture Gym by recording and distributing video content that promotes violent and lewd behavior. Mancuso alleges the anniversary event at the gym was overcrowded and that promoters created a frenzy by giving out free items.

Mancuso further contends that those attending were encouraged to use drugs and that unsanctioned wrestling and boxing matches took place. Mancuso said he and other attendees followed Martyn out of the gym and that when the plaintiff tried to go back inside, Marty told security guards to use force and remove Mancuso, the suit alleged.

At Martyn’s order, guards “grabbed, struck, and pushed plaintiff’s head into a large pole,” leaving Mancuso unconscious, according to the suit, which further stated that the plaintiff believes other violent altercations took place at the gym in the past. Mancuso contended that Martyn and Zoo Culture should have taken steps after the previous alleged events to limit the chance they would occur again.
