The woman whose Mar Vista rental home was destroyed when Anne Heche drove into it with her car in 2022 says in new court papers obtained Thursday that a supplemental accounting is needed in order for there to be a settlement of her creditor’s claim against the actress’ estate.

Lynne Mishele filed her court papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. She was the tenant and business owner who escaped unharmed with her pets from the Walgrove Avenue home, but was displaced and lost most of her belongings in the massive fire that followed the Aug. 5, 2022 crash.

Heche’s oldest son, Homer Heche Laffoon, 24, is managing his mother’s estate and did not provide the information Mischele has sought in her first requested accounting even though the “Donnie Brasco” star died nearly four years ago, according to the petition, which seeks the production of additional documents and a deferral of any compensation to Laffoon.

Mishele’s court papers note that the first accounting reports four payments totaling $500 to a Reni Martinez from Dec. 10, 2024 through April 18, 2025, ostensibly for estate sale and cleaning. But according to what Laffoon previously reported, the terms of the sale agreement with an auction house included the collection and transport of all items for $9,500.

“It is therefore not clear why the estate paid a third party $500 for what appears to be an overlapping service,” Mishele’s attorneys state in their court papers. “Nor is it clear why those payments continued months after the sale concluded. Who is Reni Martinez and why did the estate pay this individual $500 for services that should not have been needed?”

An accounting of an estate is a formal, comprehensive financial report prepared by an executor or administrator. It details all assets, income, expenses, debts paid and distributions made during the estate’s administration.

Mishele’s attorneys also question Laffoon’s payment of $11,300 to store Heche’s piano, among other items, and want to know why some likely assets are missing, including a retirement account for Heche. The lawyers say that as a registered member of SAG-AFTRA for 35 years, Heche likely accrued the maximum 35 pension credits under her union.

Laffoon is the son of Heche’s ex-husband, 53-year-old producer and real estate broker Coleman Laffoon. Heche died six days after the crash on Aug. 11, 2022, at age 53.
