A 17-year-old girl who was shot in South Los Angeles was clinging to life Friday, authorities said.

The teen was placed on life support after the crime, which occurred about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at 84th Street and Vermont Avenue, said Los Angeles police Officer Nuria Venegas.

A 24-year-old man also was wounded, in what was believed to have been a car-to-car shooting, police said.

After the shooting, the wounded girl was taken to her home by the male victim, who then sought assistance at the LAPD’s 77th Street Station, said Lt. John Jenal.

The man, who was shot in the abdomen, was treated at a hospital and released. There were no arrests.
