A woman was stabbed to death in the unincorporated community of South Whittier, authorities said Saturday.
The victim, whose age was not available, was attacked around 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 11500 block of Obert Avenue, near Leffingwell Road and the border with La Mirada, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Trina Schrader said.
A witness told deputies the victim had been approached by another woman who started an argument which escalated into a fight, Schrader said.
The female suspect then stabbed the victim several times before fleeing, Schrader said, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female suspect had been detained, but no arrests had been made, Schrader said.
