The attacks took place about 12:50 p.m. in the 2700 block of East 110th Street, said sheriff’s Lt. Dan Nathan, watch commander at Century Station.

“The victims were all in their 20s,” Nathan said. “They were standing on the street when they were shot.”

According to detectives, a four-door, light-colored car pulled up next to the three men while they were standing on the sidewalk. Several shots were fired by one of the car’s occupants before the vehicle fled the scene heading west on 110th Street. All three victims are from Lynwood.

The victims were transported to the hospital, but one of the men was pronounced dead, according to the sheriff’s department. The deceased man’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. One of the survivors was undergoing surgery and both men were expected to live, according to the sheriff’s department.

Nathan said there was no suspect information available and the motive for the attack was unclear.

The shooting appeared to be gang-related, according to the sheriff’s department.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500. All tips can be made anonymously.
