A man was found dead from an apparent suicide inside a vehicle parked outside the Carson Sheriff’s Station early Monday morning, a lieutenant said.

The body was discovered in the vehicle at 12:30 a.m. in the sheriff’s station parking lot at 21356 South Avalon Blvd., said Lt. J. Hutak.

The discovery was made during a routine security check, said Sgt. Chris Meadows of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

The man was identified as 52-year-old Marc Quinn of Torrance, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Quinn was not a sheriff’s department employee, Winter said.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the male adult suffered an apparent self-inflicted single gunshot wound,” Meadows said. “A weapon was recovered at the scene.”
