A fire ripped through at least two floors of a West Hollywood apartment building on Thursday, injuring one firefighter who suffered a twisted knee battling the three-alarm blaze.

The fire was reported at 3:53 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Horn Avenue and was knocked down about an hour later, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The injured firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The building sustained extensive damage, but a cost estimate was not immediately available. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
