Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a driver whose car struck and killed a 20-year-old man in Long Beach last Saturday.

Daniel Gomez of Long Beach was attempting to cross Spring Street near Studebaker Road about 12:10 a.m. Saturday when he was struck, Long Beach police said on Friday.

The vehicle that hit him was a 2011-2014 silver metallic Honda Fit that may have sustained damage to its front bumper and hood, a broken headlamp, a broken or missing side mirror housing — all on the driver’s side — and possibly a broken windshield, police said.

Anyone with information about the driver’s identity or the vehicle involved in the crash was urged to contact Long Beach Police Collision Investigation Detective Steve Fox at (562) 570-7355. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
