A chase of a suspected stolen vehicle ended less than a minute after it began when it crashed on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Lawndale Monday.
The pursuit began at 10:40 a.m. and ended near the Hawthorne Boulevard off-ramp and the suspect was taken into custody, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The suspect, believed to be in his 50s, was booked for car theft and assault with a deadly weapon, but his name was not immediately available, said Sgt. James North of the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station.
