A Virgin America flight out of Boston and bound for Los Angeles was diverted to Omaha, Nebraska Monday because of an in-flight “medical incident involving a guest on board,” an airline spokeswoman said.

Flight 363 with 108 passengers on board landed in Omaha, then headed to Los Angeles, where it landed shortly after noon.

“Virgin America Flight VX 363, carrying 108 passengers, diverted to Omaha this morning due to a medical incident involving a guest on board,” Virgin America spokeswoman Christie O’Toole said in a statement. “Out of respect for the privacy of the guest, we aren’t ale to comment further. The flight (has) since arrived in Los Angeles.”

A USA Today travel writer tweeted that “Friends from Boston had to detain an unruly passenger BOS to LAX who tried to open door mid-flight.”
