The female victim of an alleged kidnapping attempt was rescued from the trunk of a vehicle parked in an off-ramp from the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Pomona, authorities said Tuesday.

The female victim called 911 to say she had been kidnapped by two men and tied up in the trunk of the vehicle, California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Bishop said.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle on the North Dudley Street off-ramp from the eastbound lanes of the freeway around 11:10 p.m. Monday, Bishop said.

“The suspects had her tied up and the car was empty,” Bishop said.

The kidnapping is being investigated by the East Los Angeles station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

NBC 4 reported that the suspects’ vehicle had Colorado license plates and that the victim had suffered minor injuries.

Broadcast footage showed tape or cloth being unraveled from the victim’s face by a police officer at the scene.
