A male pedestrian was killed and the woman he was walking with remains in critical condition after both were struck by a vehicle in Santa Clarita, authorities said Wednesday.
It happened near the intersection of Sierra (138) Highway and Mirror Way around 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Andrew Dahring said.
Dahring said the male victim was in his early 60s, and the female victim was in his mid-20s.
The woman suffered multiple broken bones, including her pelvis and left arm and leg, and surgeons believed they had stablized her condition, Dahring said.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, Dahring said. He had not been detained or arrested.
