A Compton man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges stemming from an alleged DUI crash in Rowland Heights that left an 18-year-old man seriously injured.
Pierr Gonzalez-Garcia, 21, is charged with one felony count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury and driving with a 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level causing injury.
Gonzalez-Garcia is accused of driving at an excessive speed and crashing into a car on Pathfinder Road on the evening of Aug. 1, according to Deputy District Attorney Lauren Guber.
The other motorist suffered numerous serious injuries, including a traumatic injury to his brain and multiple facial and body fractures, the prosecutor said.
If convicted as charged, Gonzalez-Garcia faces up to eight years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
