A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Thursday in a crash in West Covina.
The crash was reported about 1:40 a.m. at Barranca Street and Cameron Avenue, West Covina police Sgt. Keith Shishido said.
The man — identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as Joseph Louis Surita of West Covina — died at the scene, Shishido said.
According to the preliminary investigation, he was riding south on Barranca Street — possibly at a high rate of speed — when the motorcycle crashed into a curb and a fence, Shishido said.
The man was alone on the motorcycle, and it appeared that no other vehicles were involved, Shishido said.
