Sheriff’s detectives hope security video made public today will flush out the young men suspected in two burglaries of cellphones and tablets from AT&T retailers in Santa Clarita and Stevenson Ranch.
The first incident took place on August 15 around 6:40 p.m. in the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, according to Deputy Joshua Dubin.
Five male suspects between the ages of 18 and 22 entered the store and stole cellphones and tablets. The suspects ripped the devices from security cables and ran out of the store. The burglary took less than a minute, according to Dubin.
The other theft happened about 5:10 p.m. Sept. 7 in the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road in Stevenson Ranch, according to Dubin.
In this case, three males between the ages of 18 and 20 went into the store and again stole cellphones and tablets. As in the first burglary, the suspects ripped the phones from their attached security cables and ran out of the store.
The total number of phones and tablets stolen in these burglaries was not released.
The Santa Clarita sheriff’s station released security footage of the burglaries today. Anyone with information on these suspects was asked to call Santa Clarita sheriff’s station Detective Michael Deegan at (661) 255-1121 or at msdeegan@lasd.org.
