The rapper known as Too Short was arrested Thursday, one day after TSA screeners found a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag at Bob Hope Airport, police said.
The rapper, whose real name is Todd Anthony Shaw, was passing through a checkpoint at the airport about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday “when a TSA employee noticed a carry-on bag passing through the scanner that contained a handgun,” said Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.
“Mr. Shaw left the concourse without his belongings, via an exit door, before he could be detained,” Losacco said.
He returned to the airport today with his attorney and was cited for possessing a loaded handgun in a public place and released, Losacco said.
Shaw is due to appear in court in Burbank on Nov. 3, Losacco said.
