Authorities announced $30,000 in rewards Monday in hopes of solving the killing of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Security Officer Calvin Gray.
Gray, 33, was shot July 29 in the 1000 block of West 76th Street in Vermont Knolls while dropping off his son, sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida said.
Gray had been working as a sheriff’s security officer since 2010, and was assigned to the County Services Bureau. He is survived by four children, four sisters and 12 brothers.
The Professional Peace Officers Association offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the killer, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered a $10,000 reward.
