A pair of 2-year-old boys fell from a second-story window at a Hawthorne apartment Tuesday, but both suffered only moderate injuries.
The toddlers fell from the window shortly before noon, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The boys, who are part of a set of triplets, apparently managed to climb on a bed and fell through the window screen of the apartment at El Segundo Boulevard and Ocean Gate Avenue.
The boys had been sleeping and when they woke up they crawled out a window that was next to the bed. They both fell onto the concrete pavement below.
The parents were home at the time and cooperated with deputies.
The sheriff’s department said there was no evidence of foul play, although the case was referred to the county’s Department of Children and Family Services, a standard protocol in such cases. The department is expected to assist the family.
