Five college students were arrested for allegedly stealing plants from a residential yard in Alhambra, police said Wednesday.
The crime occurred some time overnight in the 300 block of North Almansor Street, the Alhambra Police Department reported.
The items allegedly were intended for use as decorations at a fraternity party, police said. The names of the suspects were not immediately released.
A news release posted on the police department’s Facebook page initially described the suspects as USC students, but that reference was removed a few minutes later.
Police believe items may have been taken from other residential yards, and they urged anyone who may have been the victim of a similar crime to contact authorities.
