A 25-year-old Pomona man who was identified as a parolee at large by Pomona police tried to escape and ended up crashing his car into several parked vehicles, injuring himself and his 18-year-old passenger, police said Wednesday.
John Ray Burns was seen near Park Avenue and Commercial Street about 12:36 p.m. Tuesday in a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, said Pomona Police Department Officer E. Padilla.
When officers tried a traffic stop, Burns took off at a high rate of speed. He lost control of his car and crashed.
Burns and his passenger, Mkykala Pittman, also of Pomona, tried to flee on foot. Burns was found a few blocks away in an occupied home where he hid in a closet. Police dogs located him. Pittman was also arrested.
