Three people are jailed and suspected of killing a man that the trio claimed had tried to kidnap them, a police lieutenant said Saturday.
One of the suspects called police a little after 5 p.m. Friday from the 13100 block of Daleside Avenue to report that the victim tried to kidnap them, but they had been able to knock him out. The caller said the alleged kidnapper was unconscious in their truck, said Gardena police Lt. Niko Uikilifi.
When officers arrived at the truck, the victim was unconscious and not responsive, Uikilifi said. Arriving paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
He was identified as Bradley Hayes, 34, of Hesperia, police said..
“After further information was gathered, the three subjects, identified as the reporting party, were detained and eventually charged with homicide,” the police detective said.
But it was not clear if the arrests were for suspicion of murder, or if formal charges had been filed by the district attorney’s office.
The suspects were identified as Jennifer Nichols, 36, and Alejandro Terrazas, 23, both of Hawthorne, and a 15-year-old juvenile, Uikilifi said.
