A police patrol car crashed into another vehicle in the Westlake section of Los Angeles on Sunday, but the officer was not seriously injured.
The crash occurred about 8 a.m. close to Sixth and Witmer streets, near the Good Samaritan Hospital, said a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart station.
Paramedics and firefighters were dispatched at 8:10 a.m on a “traffic collision rollover” call, where one person had to be extricated from a vehicle, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
Scott said paramedics rushed one person to an area hospital. The extent of that person’s injuries was not immediately known.
The officer complained of pain but was not seriously injured, firefighters said. A signal and street sign were knocked down and city workers were called out to handle exposed electrical wires.
No one was cited or arrested, the watch commander said.
